Why the Tucson in Casablanca

The premium SUV that doesn't apologize for being one.

The Hyundai Tucson is what you rent when you've got a meeting at the Sofitel, a family of four landing at CMN with checked luggage, or a 600km weekend trip to Chefchaouen and back. The diesel automatic is a highway specialist — quiet at 130 km/h on the A7, frugal at 6L/100km, and powerful enough to overtake confidently on the climbs near Settat. It's the car that makes the drive part of the trip, not the price you pay to get there.

Inside the city, the Tucson trades parking ease (it's bigger than the Logan or Clio) for ride comfort and presence. For business visitors meeting clients at Casa-Finance City or arriving at hotels in Anfa, the car you pull up in matters. The Tucson signals "serious" without crossing into "ostentatious" — the right side of premium for Moroccan business culture.

Common questions

Tucson + Casablanca, asked.

Can the Tucson handle long road trips — Casablanca to Chefchaouen, Merzouga, Atlas?
Yes, comfortably. The diesel automatic is built for highway endurance — 6L/100km consumption, quiet at cruising speeds, plenty of cargo room. Casablanca → Chefchaouen is 360km (4h on A1 + N13), Casablanca → Merzouga is 9h. The Tucson eats those distances. For genuine off-road / dunes (Erg Chebbi tracks), you'd want a real 4×4 — the Tucson is a road SUV.
Is it worth the Tucson over the Duster Automatic?
Depends on use. Pure city: Duster is fine and cheaper. Long highway runs, business meetings where presentation matters, executive transport, comfort-focused trips with passengers — the Tucson is the right call. The interior is a generation ahead (real leather, panoramic camera, dual-zone AC), and the diesel + automatic combo is significantly more relaxed at 130 km/h.
Will it fit a covered hotel parking garage?
Standard Casablanca hotel garages (Sofitel, Movenpick, Four Seasons, Hyatt, etc.) — yes, height clearance is 2.0–2.1m and the Tucson is 1.66m. The Tucson's width can be tighter in older garages with narrow lanes, but we haven't had a delivery issue at the major hotels.
Does it have child seat anchors?
Yes. Two ISOFIX points in the rear outboard seats, plus a top tether anchor. We can also provide child / infant / booster seats on request — mention it at booking and we'll have them installed when we deliver.
Can I do Casablanca → Marrakech and back in a day with comfort?
Easily. The A7 toll highway makes it a 2h 30min run each way. The Tucson is genuinely comfortable at 120-130 km/h with adaptive cruise — set it, lean back, arrive. Tolls are about 80 MAD each way.
