Why the Duster Automatic in Casablanca

SUV comfort meets automatic ease in stop-and-go traffic.

Casablanca traffic is the kind where you'll spend 30 minutes covering 4 km on Boulevard Zerktouni at 8:30am. A manual transmission turns that into wrist exercise; the Duster Automatic turns it into "put it in D and breathe." For executives shuttling between Anfa offices and Casa-Finance City meetings, or for visitors with luggage and kids in the back, this is the smarter pick over the smaller Logan.

The SUV ride height also matters more in Casablanca than people expect. Some side streets in Maarif and Habous have potholes that punish low cars. The Duster's clearance handles them without drama, and the gasoline engine means you fill up at any station — diesel pumps occasionally run dry at smaller stops, gasoline never does.

The Duster Automatic we run is gasoline — smoother than the manual diesel for daily city use, simpler to drive in heavy traffic, and the SUV ride height gives you a clearer view over Casablanca's congested boulevards. Five seats, four full suitcases, AC that actually works in Moroccan summer, GPS pre-loaded with Morocco maps.

Common questions

Duster Automatic + Casablanca, asked.

Is the Duster Automatic 4WD or 4×4?
Our urban Duster Automatic is front-wheel drive, not 4×4. It handles Moroccan paved roads (city, A-roads, motorways, the Atlas tarmac to Imlil) without issue, but it's not built for off-road tracks like the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. If your trip is fully on tarmac — Casablanca, Marrakech, Essaouira, Fez, Rabat — this is the right SUV.
Will it fit a covered hotel parking garage?
Yes. The Duster's height (1.69m) fits standard hotel parking garages in Casablanca (Sofitel, Movenpick, Hyatt all have 2.0–2.1m clearance). The few exceptions are some older buildings in the medina — but we deliver outside those anyway.
Is automatic worth the extra over the manual Logan?
For Casablanca, yes. You'll spend a meaningful percentage of your driving time stopped or crawling, and an automatic removes constant gear-shifting. Plus the Duster has SUV proportions — more headroom, more cargo, slightly more presence. Pure city driving + 4-day rental, the math usually favors the Duster Automatic over the manual Logan.
Can I take it from Casablanca to Marrakech and back in a weekend?
Easily. 240km each way on the A7 toll highway, about 2h 30min one direction at 120 km/h. The Duster cruises comfortably at motorway speeds, and the gasoline engine handles the climbs near Settat without strain. Tolls are about 80 MAD (8€) each way.
Gasoline vs diesel — does it matter for cost in Casablanca?
Slightly. Diesel in Morocco is roughly 11 MAD/liter, gasoline 13 MAD/liter (varies by season and station). For pure city driving (~8L/100km on the Duster), the cost difference over a week is around 50-80 MAD — negligible. The convenience of finding gasoline at every station outweighs it.
