Dacia Logan: The Most Rented Car In Morocco For A Reason

If you ask any Moroccan car-rental company what their most-rented car is, the answer is the same: the Dacia Logan. Not because it's flashy, not because it's premium — because it does exactly what visitors and locals need it to do, and it does it without drama. Here is why we put more travelers in a Logan than any other car we own.

Quick answer

The Logan is the most-rented car in Morocco because it's reliable, easy to drive, cheap to fuel, comfortable enough for long drives, and big enough for four adults with luggage. From 30€ a day. Automatic available. Free airport delivery on every booking.

Why visitors keep choosing the Logan

Every Moroccan rental company stocks the Logan because every visitor segment chooses it. Solo travelers want the small footprint and low rate. Couples want the trunk space and the easy parking. Groups of three or four want a single comfortable car instead of two compacts.

It's not the prettiest sedan on the road. It's the most useful one. That distinction is the entire reason the model exists — Dacia engineered the Logan as a no-nonsense workhorse, and Morocco's road conditions reward exactly that brief.

Cost — the math no other car beats

From 30€ per day. A four-day rental with airport delivery and full insurance comes in under 130€ total. No comparable car at any other price point comes close.

Fuel is the second economic story. The Logan does roughly 6L/100km on motorway, less in town. A full tank runs about 700 dirhams (≈65€). One tank covers Casablanca → Marrakech → Fes with margin to spare.

The road profile it actually fits

The Logan's natural habitat is the Moroccan motorway and the well-paved valley roads. Casablanca to Marrakech, Marrakech to Essaouira, Rabat to Fes — these are exactly the routes the car was designed for.

It also handles city driving comfortably. Compact enough for medina-edge parking, light steering for tight streets, automatic option for visitors not used to manual gearboxes in traffic.

What it is not

The Logan is not a 4×4. It is not for snow at Oukaïmeden in mid-winter, deep desert tracks, or unpaved mountain roads beyond the standard valleys. For those, the Duster.

It is not a luxury car. The interior is functional, not finished. Cloth seats, basic infotainment, no rear-view camera on the entry trim. Visitors who want hotel-arrival presence are better off in the Class A or the C220d.

When the Duster or Class A wins instead

Choose the Duster instead when your trip includes mountain roads above the paved valleys, the Agafay desert overnight, or any route with a stretch of unpaved track. Higher clearance, slightly more confidence.

Choose the Class A instead when the trip includes airport pickups for parents, a wedding, a corporate visit, or any moment where the car itself is part of the impression. Same five seats, smoother arrival.

Stay with the Logan for everything else — and that's the majority of trips.

"The Logan isn't the car visitors brag about. It's the one they remember worked."

Frequently asked

Common questions.

Is the Logan automatic or manual?
Both. We rent the Logan Automatic specifically for visitors who don't want to deal with manual gearboxes in city traffic. The manual version is cheaper if you're comfortable with stick.
Will four adults with luggage fit?
Yes — comfortably. Four adults plus four medium suitcases is the design point. Five adults squeeze in the back; tight but possible for short hops.
Petrol or diesel?
We rent both. Petrol is cheaper at the pump per liter; diesel uses less per kilometer. For trips over 1,000km total, diesel saves money. For shorter trips, petrol.
Air conditioning, Bluetooth, GPS?
AC standard on every Logan. Bluetooth standard on automatic and recent manual trims. GPS via your phone — every Logan has a phone holder and a USB port.
Insurance — what's included at 30€/day?
Third-party plus collision damage waiver with a 5,000 dirham deductible. Full-cover (zero deductible) is an upgrade — cheaper if you book it with the rental than on top later.
